How does a band, decorated with awards such as MSN’s Artist of the Year 2006 and 2007 Group of the Year Dove Award nomination, follow up their smash hit album after two years? Remedy, the first new full-length studio album in two years, is slated to release this fall. Launched in spring 2007, David Crowder Band’s website www.dcb01.com/remedy boasts a real time, 24 hours a day, glimpse into how the new project is coming together. Fans get an insider’s look into The Barn, the band’s own recording facility built in Dr. Pepper fame. Eight webcams line the studio and hover over the mixing boards, giving fans a much closer look into the late night jam sessions and finishing touches of the album. The most recent pictures include a lined-pad sketch of “The End,” giving hints that the Remedy is truly coming soon.
Dishing out sneak peeks is nothing new for David Crowder Band, although this is a more inventive avenue for the band to feed fans' curiosity. The band’s epic battles with rodents awarded it MSN’s “This Week’s Hottest Feature,” as well as a premier spot on the home page. “They've single-handedly redefined what contemporary Christian music should sound like,” MSN stated after awarding David Crowder Band the 2006 MSN Artist of the Year nod.
With GMA Music Dove Award honors for Best Rock/Contemporary Album and Best Rock/Contemporary Song (“Here is Our King”), as well as the 2007 Group of the Year Dove Award nomination, the momentum is clearly climbing for David Crowder Band.
