I was one who went down the wrong fork in the road at the age of 15. Being raised in Assembly of God churches all my life, I always believed in God, but as many of us do, I strayed from that path and was entangled in the web of drugs and alcohol. Although I have always been just a straight up type person, my persona was minimized during these treacherous journeys through the maze of the substance world. On Jan. 16th of 2009, I admitted myself to a rehab center in Florida, near where I live. I was tired of the lack of money, the destruction of my self-esteem and pride, the hangovers, and primarily my spiritual convictions, through 38 years of abusing mainly alcohol. I was somewhat "born again" while in rehab, and to this date, I am still clean and sober, but for the grace of God! I recently attended the Night of Joy at Disney Hollywood Studios, Sept. 11th and 12th, 2009, with my 11 year old son, JJ. We saw several Christian bands, but the one most inspiring to us both, was "Mercyme", I have never in my life, felt so reconnected with God, and in the spirit of God, as I did Sat. evening, especially when they played "God with us"! You know there are naysayers, and doubters, but I now know in my heart and soul, that I will NEVER stray from God's path of life ever again!! I was so emotional, and so touched by the spirit, sitting high up in the stands, I felt so, so very close to my saviour, my God, moreso than I have ever been in my life! The most precious part of it all is that, so did my son, JJ. When the song was over, he looked over at me and smiled, and said "daddy, I love you", and hugged me! I have to fight back the tears of joy that are just streaming down my face as I write this, but I just have to tell the world! I have to give a heartfelt thanks to all the personnel of MercyMe, as their music was speaking to me, through the direction of God himself!!! May God bless you all!

The most embarrassing thing I ever did was:

Going to go sing in the church choir, after I just had a cigarette, and I was called out on it right then and there and had to leave the choir!

.....that God's way is the only way, for myself and my family. His love and grace saved me from sure destruction!
